On conscious living
America is an abundant country, it has so much, people who live in this country have so much, possessed so much - and waste so much, mindlessly.
In Zen and Buddhism practice, the teaching of 'no mind' is essential, leading for life with mindless action, is not, because it not only harm our mind, people surround us, and the planet we live in. As an immigrant from the East, and had travelled extensively in many Asia countries, had lodged in the mountain temples in quest for enlightenment, had experienced and seen the poverty, had lived with a bowl of rice and a plate of vegetable a day with contentment, and had sought my own spiritual pilgrim, I have always felt I am blessed abundantly when I came to the America. My past experience have helped me in all the temptations I encountered in this country.
I have always pondered, what is conscious living? Do no harm, posses no more than I need, poison no environment that we live in, cultivate compassion and love? But these concepts and ideas are always viewed as religious belief than a life-style one should cultivate. Al Gore's Inconvenient Truth was a lion's roar, it awaken, not just the mind of American people, but the mind of people from this planet we depend on, that we need to cultivate conscious living and do no more harm to our planet and that we are responsible for every little action we do. Yet this peal of wisdom has been passed on generation to generation by many Native people who lived and have continued living in the mountains, in continents where nature, animals and human live harmoniously in peace.
Lotus Seeds is part of me, it's a mean for my samsara as it provides a way for my independent living. Every day, I practice my conscious living in Lotus Seeds, I conduct mindful activities that include: live simple life, harm none, waste less and waste none (if possible), use no toxic chemical material for Lotus Seeds' products that may harm the environment etc...
But it doesn't end here, the conscious living is a lifelong journey that cannot depend on one individual, but each one and everyone. The message needs to be passed on forever, the job needs to be done generation to generation. So from here, from now, I will continued doing my part just as you are doing yours, right here, right now.
